As part of its ongoing efforts to support positive messages in communities around the nation, AmpliVox Sound Systems recently donated a versatile portable sound system to inspirational speaker Dennis Mitchell and his Safe Driving for Teens program. AmpliVox is proud to support Mitchell in his mission to educate young people about positive choices, safe driving, and empowerment.
Dennis Mitchell endured a transformative tragedy in 1982 when his five-year-old son was killed by a drunk driver. At the time, Mitchell himself was homeless and destitute, struggling with the consequences of his own troubled youth. The trauma of losing his son led Mitchell to turn his life around. He committed his life to improving the world for young people, and now travels the country from his home base in Spokane, Washington, to speak at schools, prisons, juvenile centers, and community centers.
To help Mitchell deliver his presentations effectively, AmpliVox has supplied him with a highly portable PA system, the SW915 Digital Audio Travel Partner. This 250-watt system works indoors or out, covering groups of up to 7500 people in areas of up to 25,000 square feet. The convenient unit can be powered from an AC outlet or can run on its built-in rechargeable battery for 10 hours. AmpliVox's SW915 includes Bluetooth connectivity, compatibility with iPods/iPhones/iPads, a built-in digital CD/CDR/CDRW/MP3 disc player with pitch control, a USB port, and a luggage-style handle and wheels for easy transportation.
Mitchell was enthusiastic about the many features offered by AmpliVox's donation. "The is way more than I thought it would be," he said in a letter to AmpliVox. "I had no idea you could pre-set it to the sound level you wanted; that's awesome. I was able to walk into different rooms and it picked up even without a line of sight. I also love the variable pitch control for the CD player." He also appreciated the ability to run the unit on battery power for long periods of time, the elimination of feedback through the use of battery power, and the flexibility offered by the remote control.
"Dennis Mitchell has an incredibly inspiring story of how to take charge of your life in positive ways," noted Don Roth, AmpliVox CEO. "We at AmpliVox wish Dennis all the best as he continues to educate and motivate young people all over America. We're glad that our products will help Dennis's message be heard."
