Chief's large flat panel swing arm mount and automated pop-up lift offer viewing flexibility for this high-end California residence.
Chief Manufacturing understands that AV integration is playing a larger role in high-end residential construction. Today's dream has evolved to a smart home where the systems are interconnected to allow remote control of the home to save energy, improve comfort, safety and or convenience for the homeowner. Dealers and installers can count on Chief to keep their customers' needs in mind from a visual sense as well as a quick installation sense.
With the help of David Wood, owner of San Diego Sound and Video, owners of a spectacular La Jolla residence created their own smart home. The primary goal was to create whole-home integration of computers, video and audio as well as control of lighting, shades, swimming pool and security system.
One of the major challenges of this particular installation was the steel stud construction of the entire wall over the fireplace where the homeowners wanted to mount their LCD TV. Wood and his team worked closely with the contractor to make sure there was enough support structure in the wall to properly support the LCD TV.
The La Jolla smart home demanded a sophisticated and elegant AV design. The showpiece is the great room featuring a
65" high definition LCD TV. The homeowners wanted to be able to view the TV from multiple rooms, and Chief's PDR™ Flat Panel Dual Swing Arm Mount was the perfect solution. The PDR allows flexible TV placement, allowing the homeowners to pull out the TV from the wall and rotate for viewing from either the front patio or the pool and barbecue area.
The homeowners also decided to install Chief's CM2L40™ Automated Flat Panel Pop-Up Lift in the master bedroom. The mount was installed in a custom-designed cabinet situated at the foot of the bed. The CM2L40 provides automated travel that is both fast and quiet, so users can reveal a flat panel TV out of a cabinet at the press of a button.
Wood decided to use Chief mounts in this installation because he trusted the products. "We know how to install them, we know what we have to do to utilize them in 'unique' circumstances and most importantly, we have trust in the strength and reliability of the mounts," he said. According to Wood, everyone involved with the installation was pleased with the results, including the homeowners. "If we didn't think the installation would exceed the clients' expectations, we wouldn't have used [Chief mounts]," he said.
