Yamaha ADECIA remote conferencing systems have been installed in two training rooms at the Taiwan offices of TÜV Rheinland Group, one of the world’s leading testing service providers. Founded 150 years ago, the company has facilities throughout the world. Its experts certify a wide range of products and technical systems, provide support services for innovation and training a wide range of professionals in international standards and certification systems.

THE CHALLENGE:

The requirement was to install a remote video conferencing systems in two training rooms at the Kaohsiung office of TÜV Rheinland Technology & Consulting (Taiwan) Co. Whether courses are being conducted on site or remotely, the company wanted instructors to be able to interact with participants who are in the training room and at other locations. The rooms accommodate 47 and 69 people respectively, and the systems had to allow any participant to speak at any time. This meant they had to allow for a wide coverage area, with exceptional sound quality and ease of operation.

THE SOLUTION:

TÜV Rheinland Group’s commitment to excellence meant that the video conferencing system it chose had to meet the highest standards. The company was already familiar with Yamaha ADECIA solutions and was aware of other successful installations, something which was taken into account at the planning stage.

In addition, compared to other conferencing system manufacturers, Yamaha’s long experience of digital audio and the design and manufacture of audio source equipment, mixers, processors, power amplifiers and speakers meant that the client was fully confident about the quality and functionality of the ADECIA system.

Two ADECIA systems were installed - one in each room - each comprising two RM-CG ceiling array microphones, an RM-CR remote conference processor and VXL1B-16P slimline Dante PoE powered speakers - four in the larger room, two in the smaller room. The signal from a handheld wireless microphone system was routed to the RM-CR, which is connected to a Barco ClickShare wireless video conferencing system host via USB.

All the ADECIA devices in each system were connected to a Yamaha SWR2100P-5G L2 network switch, routing both Power over Ethernet (PoE) and audio over a single Cat 6 cable.

The systems were commissioned in September and have been used frequently ever since. As expected, they have been extremely stable and, most importantly, have lived up to the exceptionally high expectations of TÜV Rheinland Group.
