Hsinchu, Taiwan, July 5, 2023 – Lumens® Digital Optics Inc's auto-tracking PTZ camera was recognized as Best of Show at The International Society for Technology in Education's ISTELive 23 event in Philadelphia. Identifying breakthroughs in learning technology from the likes of Samsung, LG, ViewSonic and BenQ. Lumens VC-TR40 was the only PTZ awarded the accolade at this year's event.

VC-TR40 is a 20x HD PTZ camera with extensive connectivity (SDI, HDMI, USB and IP) to make it simple to integrate into classrooms and lecture theaters. What also makes it stand out is its AI-based auto-tracking capabilities which make teachers' life easier by running autonomously without the need for any hands-on control. Automatically focusing on the teacher as they move around the front of the classroom or across a stage area, the camera continuously keeps the subject in the picture, even if students or colleagues enter the frame.

Lumens' auto-tracking system delivers a video image of the teacher which enables students viewing on big screens to engage closely with the presenter. For remote learning and learning consolidation, the experience is far more intimate than a simple wide-angle view of the teaching space. In primary and secondary education, establishing shooting zones can assist in child protection, ensuring that students are not captured by the camera.

VC-TR40 works with standard video conferencing services such as Zoom and Teams. It is also compatible with media processors, such as Lumens' CaptureVision stations, and learning platforms including Panopto and Kaltura.

VC-TR40 is part of a range of auto-tracking cameras from the manufacturer, which includes the 20x VC-TA50 and the 4K VC-TR60 model. All products are covered by a 5-year warranty in most territories and are available from a global network of distributors.
